I'm an atheist, but there was a Jesus, historically, the same way that someone in the future will say there was once an Elidet.
Christ is not a last name, it's a title meaning the “Anointed One.”
There is historical record from historians that a "Christ" existed, but not that this particular "Christ" was a miracle worker.
As a matter of fact, most historians from that era never mention any special significance of a special Jesus.
